Consider that the sponge represents yourself and the church as a whole, and the water represents Christ. What are we like when we are separate from Christ? When we are fully immersed in Him? How are we changed when we are immersed in Christ?

When we are full of Christ(water) and we go out in the world, He naturally flows out of us and touches and affects everything He touches, this will only happen when we are full of him as when the sponge is full of water.

When we are fully immersed in Christ, we will fully live out our purpose that is only found in Him. Apart from Him, we are nothing. When we abide in Him, we will be fruitful. In Him, we will live a full and saturated life. Without Him, our life will be dry and meaningless.
